WELCOME / GATEWAY LANDMARK
Public art call application
The sculpture will take the shape of a monumental gateway resembling an arched bridge. Visitors will be able to walk underneath it or cross over it to enjoy an elevated viewpoint.
The railing will spell WELCOME when entering from the street, and GOOD BYE when leaving the park.
The entire structure will be crafted using the rocaille technique, an 18th-century Romantic method that imitates natural forms and wood through sculpted cement.
The technical plans, dimensions, circulation, safety, and maintenance will be developed in Phase 2 of the selection process.
